1. Who we are
Voopsik is an independent language-learning web app built by Vladyslav Palamarchuk. Contact: voopsik.support@gmail.com.
2. Data we collect
- Account data: email address, sign-in provider, account identifiers.
- Profile data: selected languages, CEFR level, profile settings, optional profile photo.
- Learning data: saved vocabulary, practice results, progress statistics, challenge state.
- User content: practice answers, vocabulary, tutor messages, feedback, support requests, and imported files.
- Permission-based data: optional microphone audio, speech recognition input, camera images, and photo library images when you use those features.
- Device and notification data: push notification tokens, device/app identifiers, crash logs, diagnostics, and performance data.
- Purchase data: subscription status, product identifiers, transaction identifiers, and entitlement status.
- Usage and telemetry data used for app functionality, abuse prevention, diagnostics, and reliability.
- Necessary cookie and local-storage data used for login, security, preferences, and app functionality.
3. Why we use this data
- To create and secure your account.
- To save and sync your learning progress.
- To deliver app features, support, and reliability improvements.
- To process optional speech, pronunciation, image vocabulary, and profile photo features that you start.
- To verify purchases, unlock subscriptions, restore purchases, and prevent subscription abuse.
- To diagnose app reliability and prevent misuse. Voopsik does not use advertising or marketing tracking.
4. Legal bases
- Contract/performance: account, progress sync, core functionality.
- Legitimate interests: service reliability and abuse prevention.
- Consent: optional cookies and any optional marketing communications.
5. Service providers
Voopsik uses trusted third-party providers to operate the product and deliver core features:
- Firebase and Google services for authentication, messaging, crash reporting, cloud data storage, and Google sign-in.
- Vercel for hosting, app delivery, server-side APIs, and operational logs.
- RevenueCat for subscription entitlements, purchase validation, and subscription status.
- Apple App Store and Google Play for app distribution, in-app purchases, subscriptions, billing, refunds, and store account management.
- Resend for transactional and support-related email delivery.
- AI and speech providers, including OpenAI, Google AI/Gemini, Groq, and Azure Speech, for language-learning, tutor, speech, and practice features you request.
- Optional sign-in providers, including Apple, Google, and GitHub, when you choose that sign-in method.
6. Storage location and transfers
Data may be processed and stored using regional or international infrastructure operated by our service providers. Some providers may process data outside your country. Where required, we rely on contractual and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal data.
7. Data retention
- Account and learning data are kept while your account is active.
- Telemetry is retained for up to 12 months unless a shorter period is required.
- Purchase and entitlement records may be retained as needed for billing, tax, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and legal compliance.
- If you request deletion, we schedule data removal and aim to complete deletion within 30 days, including backup lifecycle windows.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to object to certain processing. You can submit requests at voopsik.support@gmail.com.
9. Cookies
Necessary cookies and local storage are used for login, security, preferences, and app functionality. Voopsik does not use advertising or marketing tracking cookies.
10. Account deletion
You can request account deletion in app Settings. Once confirmed, your account enters deletion flow and data is removed within the stated retention window. You can also use the public deletion instructions at /delete-data or contact voopsik.support@gmail.com.
Deleting your Voopsik account does not automatically cancel active Apple App Store or Google Play subscriptions. You must manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple or Google account.
